Enjoy 8 days of adventure with Gentle Giants to explore the pearl of Africa. The 8-day Uganda safari rewards you with a thrilling Uganda experience which includes trekking the endangered mountain gorillas in Bwindi Forest, game viewing boat cruising and a hike to the top of Murchison Falls National Park and chimpanzee trekking/Bigodi wetland walk in Kibale Forest National Park. You will also have a boat cruise at Kazinga channel and a game drive in the Ishasha sector of Queen Elizabeth National Park to see the famous tree-climbing Lions.  The 8-day Uganda safari takes you to visit four of Uganda’s top National Parks which are Murchison Falls Park, Kibale Forest Park, Queen Elizabeth National Park, and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest National Park. We shall start and end in Kampala/Entebbe Uganda.

ARRIVAL & TRANSFER TO HOTEL

You will be welcomed by our guide on arrival at the airport and be briefed about the 8-day trip and soon head to your lodge for relax

After an early breakfast meal, you will set off for Murchison Falls National Park on a 5-hour journey enjoying the beautiful countryside of the pearl of Africa. Arrive in time and hike to the top of the falls for breathtaking views of this natural wonder as the Nile forces its way through a narrow gorge. Drive to the lodge later with your guide and relax for the next day’s activities. Dinner and overnight at the lodge.

Start your day with a tasty breakfast meal at the lodge and hit the road for an exclusive game viewing experience to spot your favorite wildlife like the lions, elephants, waterbucks, warthogs, leopards, giraffes, buffaloes, hyenas, wild dogs, kobs and several bird species. Your guide will ensure to take you to the best spots to have your eyes on these amazing animals. Afternoon boat cruise to the bottom of the falls to view the Nile as it forces its way through a 7-meter gorge before exploding to the bottom where you will be sailing. Enjoy watching the Nile crocodiles, hippos, and other wildlife on the riverbanks or swimming. Drive back to the lodge for relaxation, Dinner, and overnight.

Have breakfast early enough and embark on a journey to Kibale National Park the primate capital of East Africa sheltering 13 primate species. You will have a stopover to visit Tooro Kingdom Palace and the tea plantation where you will witness the entire tea-making process. Break off for lunch and proceed to Kibale Forest arriving in the late afternoon. Check-in at the lodge, relax, and later have dinner and spend a night.

Breakfast will be served very early in the morning and soon drive to the park briefing point for guidelines on the Chimp trekking exercise. The ranger guides will soon lead you to the forest in search of habituated chimpanzee troupes. These primates are believed to share 98% DNA with humans which makes them clever as will be demonstrated by their behavior during your tour. The chimps have been habituated and this makes it safe to be in their presence without causing any harm to you. You will be allowed to spend one full hour with them as you explore their unique behavior in their natural habitat. Return to the starting point to meet your guide and break off for lunch. Afternoon visits Bigodi swamp to enjoy the calm breeze of the forest learning about the different tree species and other primate species. Retire at the lodge, have dinner, and overnight at the lodge.

Drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park after breakfast on a 3 hours journey as you enjoy the gorgeous green undergrowth on the roadsides. You will soon arrive at the park in the mid-morning, check in at the lodge, relax, and have lunch. You will launch an afternoon boat cruise at Kazinga Channel for scenic views of wild water animals and other savannah animals seen on the river banks.  The cruise also offers a chance to watch birds like the colorful kingfisher and the majestic eagles among others. Retire at the lodge, have dinner, and spend the night.

After an early morning breakfast, you will start your day with a morning game drive through the Ishasha area to watch the tree-climbing lions. Break off for lunch and proceed to Bwindi’s impenetrable forest the home of the majestic mountain Gorillas. You will soon arrive at the park, and check in at the lodge. Dinner and overnight at a lodge in the park.

After breakfast, you will drive to the park office to meet other guests for a pre-tracking briefing on the rules for this amazing exercise. The ranger guides will soon lead you into the jungle in search of a habituated Gorilla group as allocated to you. The trekking requires some level of fitness for you to enjoy the experience with your team. After a long walk through the thick undergrowth, you will meet the Gorillas and have a moment with them as you observe them, and take pictures and videos for one hour. Return to the starting point to meet your guide and drive to your lodge for relaxation.  In the evening if time allows, you will visit the batwa pygmies to learn and experience their traditions, norms, customs, and beliefs. Have dinner and overnight.

After an early breakfast, start your journey returning to Kampala with a stopover for lunch in Lyantonde. Proceed to Kampala arriving in the evening hours.

End of the 8-day Uganda tour.

What to To Think About On This Tour

Gorilla & Chimpanzee tracking is subject to the availability of permits, which are limited to 8 per gorilla group per day and 6 per chimpanzee track per ½ day.

Any Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits required need to be paid for upfront when booking. As soon as funds clear in our account, we will go ahead and purchase.  

Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits are always 100% non-transferable and non-refundable

The RATES are subject to change and are based on Availability with effect from July upon release of the new tariffs from Uganda Wildlife Authority and Rwanda Development Board.

On flights and land-based tours within East Africa, each passenger is limited to a maximum baggage weight of 33 pounds (15 kilograms). This includes the weight of purses and camera equipment in addition to regular luggage. Luggage restrictions are adhered to very strictly and passengers should pack their bags accordingly. Soft-sided luggage or duffels are preferable to hard luggage for storage on safari vehicles and also on aircraft used throughout East Africa. Dimensions should not exceed 23 inches (58 centimetres) long x 13 inches (33 centimetres) high x 10 inches (25 centimetres) wide.
