Detailed Itinerary
ARRIVAL DAY & TRANSFER TO THE HOTEL

You will find our guide at the airport waiting for you and on arrival, you will be briefed about the 7-day Uganda safari. If time allows, explore Entebbe town, visiting the Botanical Gardens or the Entebbe Zoo (Uganda Wildlife Education Centre). Proceed to your hotel in Entebbe for overnight accommodation.

Have breakfast at your hotel and then depart to Kibale National Park which is approximately a 5-6 hours drive. Enjoy the 5-6 hours drive in the countryside rewarding you with beautiful sceneries of rolling hills, tea farms, and homesteads. Have a lunch stop in Fort Portal City and thereafter proceed to kiblae Forest arriving in the early evening.  A stop at Nakayima tree in Mubende where you will see local people praying to their gods and perfuming rituals. Optional guided nature walks to watch some primates and plant species in the forest. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast at the lodge, you will drive to the park offices for a briefing with other tourists on what to do during the tracking of the habituated chimpanzees. You will then be led into the forest trekking a long journey searching for the chimpanzees. Spend one full hour with them from the time of encounter as you learn about their behavior in their natural habitat.  This park shelters over 13 different primate species making it the primate capital of this region. Return to meet your guide and transfer to the lodge for lunch. Launch a guided nature walk to Bigodi Wetland in the afternoon. Look out for various medicinal plants, butterflies, and many monkey species during this tour. Return to your accommodation for relaxation, dinner, and overnight.

After breakfast on this day, drive to Queen Elizabeth National Park enjoying scenic views of the rolling hills and the lush grassland on your way. Arrive early, check into your lodge, and have lunch. Enjoy an evening game drive to explore the park to spot wildlife such as elephants, giraffes, leopards, waterbucks, lions, and buffaloes. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight after this memorable.

After an early breakfast, go for an early morning game drive to catch sight of early risers and predators including the lions, leopards, spotted hyenas, giraffes, elephants, antelopes, warthogs, baboons, and several bird species. Return to the lodge for lunch and rest. Afternoon boat cruise on the renowned Kazinga Channel: Enjoy game viewing along the water, including crocodiles, hippos, and numerous bird species. Return to your lodge for dinner and overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for Bwindi Impenetrable National Park through the western district of Kanungu. Arrive in the afternoon, check into your lodge, and enjoy lunch. Spend the afternoon at ease or take a community walk to interact with local people near the park. Dinner and overnight at the lodge within the park.

Breakfast will be served very early in the morning and immediately head to the briefing area to be guided on what to do by the park rangers. The gorilla trekking experience soon begins, hiking through the forest until you meet the habituated gorillas. Spend a thrilling day tracking and observing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. Return to the starting point to meet your guide and transfer to Lake Bunyonyi arriving in the afternoon. Optional canoeing, or enjoy ziplining on this freshwater body. Enjoy dinner and overnight by the lakeside at Bunyonyi.

After breakfast, start your journey back to Entebbe. Depending on your flight schedule, you may stop at the equator for pictures or visit local markets for crafts. Proceed to Entebbe International Airport.

What to To Think About On This Tour

Gorilla & Chimpanzee tracking is subject to the availability of permits, which are limited to 8 per gorilla group per day and 6 per chimpanzee track per ½ day.

Any Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits required need to be paid for upfront when booking. As soon as funds clear in our account, we will go ahead and purchase.  

Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits are always 100% non-transferable and non-refundable

The RATES are subject to change and are based on Availability with effect from July upon release of the new tariffs from Uganda Wildlife Authority and Rwanda Development Board.

On flights and land-based tours within East Africa, each passenger is limited to a maximum baggage weight of 33 pounds (15 kilograms). This includes the weight of purses and camera equipment in addition to regular luggage. Luggage restrictions are adhered to very strictly and passengers should pack their bags accordingly. Soft-sided luggage or duffels are preferable to hard luggage for storage on safari vehicles and also on aircraft used throughout East Africa. Dimensions should not exceed 23 inches (58 centimetres) long x 13 inches (33 centimetres) high x 10 inches (25 centimetres) wide.
