Safari Overview

Be part of this guided 6-day exclusive Rwanda & Uganda double gorilla safari to meet two different gorilla families in Volcanoes National Park and Bwindi Impenetrable Forest home in their natural habitats. Enjoy an encounter with the endangered mountain gorillas to learn and experience this once-in-a-lifetime experience.  The two parks are the prime gorilla trekking destinations in the world which shelter the highest number of mountain gorillas in the wild. Bwindi Forest shelters over 500 mountain gorillas which are shared between 4 gorilla regions that make up the national park. Altogether Bwindi Forest has 20 gorilla families that have been habituated for trekking.  The gorilla families in   Bwindi Forest include Mubare, Kyaguliro, Kutu, Mishaya, Oruzogo, Nshongi, Nkuringo, Posho, Bikyingi, Katwe, Christmas, Busingye, and Rwigi gorilla families among others.

On the other hand, Volcanoes National Park is second to Bwindi Forest in sheltering the high number of mountain gorillas. The park is home to over 400 gorillas habituated into 10 families.  The gorilla groups in Volcanoes National Park include Agashya, Umubano, Amahoro, Susa A, Karisimbi, Sabyinyo, Titus, and Pablo gorilla groups. Each family receives 8 travelers each day for an hour.

The 5-day double gorilla trekking will require you to have two mountain gorilla permits, one for Uganda and one for Rwanda. Each gorilla trekking permit in Uganda costs $800 while in Rwanda it costs $1500

Get to meet with two different gorilla families in different habits which gives you an accurate comparison between gorilla trekking in Uganda and Rwanda.  The 5 days Rwanda Uganda gorilla safari will start in Kigali Rwanda ending in Kampala/Entebbe Uganda
