Detailed Itinerary
ARRIVAL IN ENTEBBE, UGANDA

You will be picked up by our representative at the airport on arrival and be briefed about your 11-day trip as you drive to your lodge/Hotel in Entebbe. Based on your time of arrival, explore Entebbe by taking part in some optional activities such as a visit to the Botanical Gardens for the Birds, or the Uganda Wildlife Education Centre.

Morning drive to Ziwa Rhino Sanctuary in Nakasongola which is approximately 2 hours drive away. Enjoy a guided Rhino tracking experience to see the endangered white rhinos in their natural habitat. The sanctuary is also home to giraffes, Uganda kobs, and several colobus monkeys not forgetting various bird species. In the afternoon, chill and relax at your lodge.

Have a relaxed breakfast check out and embark on a drive to Murchison falls National Park in northwestern Uganda. Enjoy a hike to the top of the falls which offer you spectacular views of the string Nile waters and wildlife in the Park. After the hike, you visit the nearby Delta area for a chance to see more wildlife that you may have missed or seen the previous day. Retire at the lodge for lunch. Launch an evening game drive, explore various areas of the park for more game viewing. Overnight and dinner at the lodge.

Have an early morning game drive to spot wildlife such as elephants, warthogs, duikers, lions, and giraffes. Return to the lodge for breakfast and eventually lunch. Launch an afternoon boat cruise on the Nile River to the bottom of the Falls. Enjoy views of the mighty falls, hippos, crocodiles, and diverse birdlife. Drive to your lodge for dinner and an overnight stay.

After breakfast, depart for Kibale National Park the home of primates (about 6-7 hours drive). Enjoy scenic views as you drive through this part of Uganda and stop for lunch along the way. Arrive soon and check into the lodge upon arrival and relax. Optional guided evening nature walk in the park. Dinner and overnight will be at the lodge.

Morning Chimpanzee Trekking starts with breakfast at the lodge and a briefing on the rules for the trekking experience in the wild. You will then be led into the park in search of habituated Chimpanzees. After hours of trekking in the forest, you will meet the chimps and have a full hour observing wild chimpanzees and other primate species. Meet your guide at the starting point and return to your lodge for lunch. Afternoon take a guided nature walk at Bigodi swamp to have an encounter with several monkey and plant species. Dinner and overnight at your lodge.

After breakfast, drive to Bwindi Impenetrable National Park located in the south western side of Uganda. Enjoy scenic views of the countryside as you drive through with your guide making stopovers at specific tour attractions. Arrive later in the evening check into your lodge and enjoy dinner and overnight.

Breakfast will be served very early in the morning to allow you to catch up with the briefing at 7 am with the park rangers. Tracking the Gorillas starts soon as you hike into the high mountains in search of the habituated mountain Gorillas. When you meet the gorillas, you will spend a whole hour observing mountain gorillas in their natural habitat. In the evening, drive to Lake Bunyonyi for dinner and an overnight stay

Spend this whole day exploring the beauty of Lake Bunyonyi. Take part in different experiences such as boat cruising to the islands, ziplining, and community tours among others. You can also do optional activities such as mountain biking and canoeing among others.  Enjoy the cool breeze of this fresh waterbody as you ride on a canoe to explore the various Islands on this lake. The day will be spent at leisure. All meals and accommodation at your lodge.

After breakfast, depart Bunyonyi for Lake Mburo National Park in the nearby district of Mbarara a 3-4 hours journey. Enjoy the scenic views of the rolling hills as you drive through Kabale and Ntungamo districts. Arrive and check into your lodge for lunch.  You will then go for the afternoon boat cruise on Lake Mburo for scenic views of wild water animals, and birds seen in the swampy shores of the Lake. Return to the lodge for dinner and overnight.

Start your day with an early morning walking safari enjoying the park on foot with a guide, an exciting way to see your favorite wildlife up close. Return to the lodge for breakfast and later lunch. In the afternoon, go for a cultural experience to the cattle keeper’s communities in the park. There you will learn how different products such as butter, yogurt, and ghee are processed from milk. Traditional dances and songs are also performed to entertain and welcome you. Dinner and overnight at your booked accommodation.

After breakfast, start your journey returning to Entebbe. You will have stopovers for lunch and at the equator for souvenirs. Proceed to Entebbe International Airport.

What to To Think About On This Tour

Gorilla & Chimpanzee tracking is subject to the availability of permits, which are limited to 8 per gorilla group per day and 6 per chimpanzee track per ½ day.

Any Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits required need to be paid for upfront when booking. As soon as funds clear in our account, we will go ahead and purchase.  

Gorilla and Chimpanzee permits are always 100% non-transferable and non-refundable

The RATES are subject to change and are based on Availability with effect from July upon release of the new tariffs from Uganda Wildlife Authority and Rwanda Development Board.

On flights and land-based tours within East Africa, each passenger is limited to a maximum baggage weight of 33 pounds (15 kilograms). This includes the weight of purses and camera equipment in addition to regular luggage. Luggage restrictions are adhered to very strictly and passengers should pack their bags accordingly. Soft-sided luggage or duffels are preferable to hard luggage for storage on safari vehicles and also on aircraft used throughout East Africa. Dimensions should not exceed 23 inches (58 centimetres) long x 13 inches (33 centimetres) high x 10 inches (25 centimetres) wide.
