Gorilla Experiences, a trusted brand under Gentle Giants Safaris a registered safari company in Uganda.. 

These terms and conditions apply when you book a safari or trip with Gentle Giants Safaris through one of our digital channels. You will be required to confirm your acceptance of these terms and conditions at the time of making a reservation.

We reserve the right to modify these terms and conditions at any time. Therefore, we recommend reviewing them each time you make a reservation. The terms and conditions applicable to your booking will be those in effect on the date your reservation is made.

1. Booking Confirmation

A booking is confirmed upon receipt of a non-refundable 30% deposit. However, for trips that include Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking permits, a non-refundable 100% payment for the permits is required, along with a 30% deposit for the main trip, no later than 7 days after trip confirmation. This is the only way we can guarantee your spot on the trip.

2. Payment

Full payment must be made at least 30 days prior to the tour departure date. Failure to complete payment may result in the cancellation of your booking and forfeiture of the deposit.

3. Gorilla & Chimpanzee Permits

Uganda

• Gorilla Permit: USD $800  
• Gorilla Habituation Permit: USD $1,500  

Rwanda

• Gorilla Permit: USD $1,500  

Important Notes:

• Only 8 permits are available per Gorilla family per day and 8 per Chimpanzee family per day.  
• Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking permits cannot be held, secured, or booked without full payment. We can check permit availability but cannot reserve them without payment.  
• Once we invoice you for the permits and the funds clear in our account, we will proceed with the purchase.  
• Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking permits are non-transferable and non-refundable.  
• The minimum age for Gorilla trekking is 15 years, and for Chimpanzee trekking, it is 12 years.  

4. Cancellation

The following cancellation penalties apply:

• The deposit for Gorilla and Chimpanzee trekking permits is non-refundable.  
• We remain flexible with our terms depending on the prevailing circumstances.  

5. Amendments

Changes to your booking (e.g., date changes, name changes) are subject to availability and may incur additional charges.

6. Travel Insurance

We strongly recommend that all clients purchase comprehensive travel insurance to cover unforeseen circumstances that may affect their travel plans. The insurance must include, but not be limited to, emergency medical expenses, repatriation, personal accident, injury, and death. Additionally, clients should be insured against loss or damage to baggage or personal belongings, as well as flight cancellations or delays.

7. Responsibility

Gentle Giants Safaris shall not be liable for any loss, damage, injury, or expenses incurred due to factors beyond our control, such as weather conditions, natural disasters, political instability, or personal negligence.

8. Health & Safety

Clients are responsible for ensuring they are medically fit to participate in the tour. Any health or dietary requirements must be communicated to us in advance.

9. Travel Documentation

Clients are responsible for ensuring they have valid passports, visas, and any other necessary travel documents required for the tour.

10. Force Majeure

Gentle Giants Safaris reserves the right to modify or cancel tours due to force majeure circumstances. In such cases, clients will be offered alternative options or a refund, minus any non-recoverable costs.
